Conceived in a dream, Sleep Machines is comprised of images made in Holwick’s birthplace of Venice Beach, California. Shot over a month span in late 2017, this landscape series dotted with accidental bodies serves as a vessel for a meditation on the human figure devoid of the commodification of self, and the relationship between environmental and corporeal form.
